A 37-year-old dual citizen of Somalia and Australia has been arrested at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in connection with an alleged fraud case, authorities have confirmed.
In a statement, the Kenya Police Service said the suspect, identified as Ige Nasa, was intercepted at Terminal 1A upon arrival from Australia via Johannesburg.
He was travelling aboard a Kenya Airways flight when immigration officers flagged him based on an active immigration control alert.
According to police, the alert had been issued on January 30, 2026, and is linked to a case of Obtaining Money by False Pretenses. Immigration officials acted swiftly upon his arrival, leading to his arrest before he could clear entry procedures.
The suspect was escorted to the JKIA Police Station for processing before being handed over to officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) for further questioning and investigations.
Authorities have not disclosed the amount of money involved in the alleged fraud or whether additional suspects are being sought.
Police say investigations are ongoing and have reiterated their commitment to pursuing suspects across borders.
