Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Leader Oburu Odinga has addressed recent remarks by Secretary General Edwin Sifuna.
The statement follows a Citizen TV interview aired earlier this week.
Dr. Oburu said ODM allows debate. He said party policy must come from official organs, not personal views.
He said recent comments caused confusion among members.
Dr. Oburu acknowledged Sifuna’s restatement of ODM’s ideology. He said the party remains guided by social democracy, justice, and inclusive governance.
However, he said some remarks misled the public on the legitimacy of party organs.
Dr. Oburu noted that Sifuna was elected Secretary General by the National Governing Council in 2018. He said the same process cannot be discredited.
He also cited contradictions on coalition talks.
Dr. Oburu said strategic engagement is not panic.
He reaffirmed party unity and discipline. He called on members to remain focused and committed.
